Ok, I didn't get a picture of the fish, but 2/2/10 caught a 4lb 3oz smallie in 53ft. The fish went to UW fishery biologist Lauren Kuehne who is doing a fish study of smallies and squawfish. It will be resting comfortable for a couple weeks in the lab for study and then released.

Since I didn't have a scale or a tape d'oh! (I measured it against my buddy's pole so I have to get him to measure the pole now, will update when I get that) I don't know if this guy was trophy thread worthy or not, but he is now my PB Smallie and definately qualified for the "almost" page...

Off the Doc at Mardon on a black jig.
