Post reports of retailers great buys on fishing equipment here. Be sure to post an expiration date so that the expired ones can be removed.

If you want to personally sell an item, please list it in the Classified Section.

Most info on 2nd post down; http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1564503

Just happened to check there rod and reel section. Look like some good deals also;
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/index/index-display.jsp?id=cat601359&navAction=jump&cmCat=catfeatfish

I thought there was a section in forums for hot deals, but I can't find it anywhere.

Their online website doesn't show them having a sale today.

Selis it was on their printed fliers that they send out to all their members and have had stacks of extra flyers in both stores for weeks. They do a 12 days of Christmas sale every year. With each day having a different category of merchandise on sale. Tomorrow its stoves and lanterns, and the last day is items in the gift department, novelties, and prints. heir website is barely better than useless for information. Today I saved some serious coin on a new halibut rod & reel.

Wolv... Thanks for the info.. Its too bad they dont keep their website up to par. Guys like me who live in Eastern WA don't get the nice deals you guys get, so we resort to online shopping. I was on there hoping to buy a new levelwind reel but couldn't get the 20% off. Kinda a bummer, but I'll keep looking for the online sales! Thanks again for the info!

If you aren't opposed to Walmart...the two area 'marts in my area are putting a good assortment of fishing supplies of clearance.

I scored three Shakespeare Agility ultra-light sized fishing reels (8 bearing, clutch anti-reverse) for $13 each...these are $35-40 elsewhere, and are very good quality, smooth rods. They come with two aluminum spools as well.

Coupled with a $15 Okuma Celio 6' or 6.5' ultra-light makes for a GREAT trout setup IMHO!

Some tackle and trout baits on sale as well.
