Maybe I can get some thoughts from the gang on the stainless versus braided question...

I have a Scotty Black Box on my boat which controls the voltage produced by the chemical reaction between the metals (stanless cable and zincs on the boat). I believe that it makes a positive difference in my results...

It won't work with the braided line, right???

And do the braided line proponents not worry about that??? Or get it from lures with e-chips??? etc...

Thanks!

You are correct one one part. The braided line will keep the Black Box from sending a charge down to the ball. The main components that create the charge are the lead weight and the stainless steel wire. If you remove the stainless steel wire you effectively remove the charge that the lead ball can generate. Though I believe that fish do home in on electrical charges, I'm not sold on a steady charge being all that effective. Fish are more likely to investigate a sound/vibration in the water that mimics a wounded fish and this is what your lures should be doing if presented correctly.
