We have a friend that lives on Tapps that has caught 18 tiger muskies of various sizes in the lake this month, sometimes even two at a time. I've seen the pictures, he just doesn't post on here so I thought I'd let you know that they are out there and hungry. Has anyone else been catching any?

Hope all is well with you and Bill!

Rosann,

I think the "bite" has been a little slower this year...maybe due to the weather patterns we have been experiencing here in Washington so far this year etc...? It was a pretty cool Spring and the weed beds need more time than usual to mature etc... These hot days we have had should help out the fishing in Tapps...

Yes, we have been catching some Tigers on Tapps, but I know many of our members have also turned their attention to Mayfield and Merwin more this year. Tapps, is however still our "backyard" lake and we have been seeing some quality fish being caught there...We just have to get our members posting on the "NW TIGER PAC" "Lunge Log"...pleaseSmileand bring that up to date hopefully in the near future...

How are the Walleyes biting? Have you and Bill been out...I can't wait to make it over to your new place! Things are busy as of now in the "Muskie" world but I will be looking forward to spending some time with you two this Fall pursuing the Walleye bite...That's of course if I'm still invited...LOL...cheers

Fish-On!!!!

The last couple of weeks have probably been the hottest fishing on Tapps that I've ever seen, lots of Muskies though most of them are smaller (20-28 inches). Last week I put a 40" in the boat and lost 4 fish between 38' and 44". Probably caught around 10 smaller fish. You can expect to have about 4 hookups a day out there right now, with the fish spread out all over the lake. I've been hitting my fish on either bucktails or swimbaits. Water temp is 72-74 and the weather has been stable so I would expect the good fishing to continue for a while. Mike.

Mike that is awesome. We have been putting a few in the boat here at Newman as well. It is a great time to be fishing for the Tigers!

One question. Do you see a lot of follows, or are they just plain nailing the lure? I ask because it seems like over here they are nailing it and not necessarily following to where we can see them. The only exception to this is my last fish, which came right up to the boat. As soon as I started my figure 8, she nailed it hard and ran.

Lots of follows, lots of fish hitting in the 8. Hooked 4 this morning, put a 24" and a 37" in the boat and lost 2 fish in the low 30's and had 4 other follows. Stable weather and water temp's in the low 70's have got them going.

Newman is hot right now too... I put two in the boat tonight! 37.5"x16" and a 31".... Must be the right time to be hitting them. Hope our tournament goes this well on the 14th. Any more of you 57 guys gonna be able to make it over? It would be great to have you!

Today was a little slower, finally got a nice 33" to come out of a deep weedbed and after a half dozen times around in the 8 she ate the bucktail. No wind today and that probably hurt the bite. Mike.

These "forces to reckon with" need some viable evidence to back up their "forces" aka pictures. I will believe in his "force" once I see a photo of his ginormous muskie. cudaman, I think you will have to use you jedi training to really convert pete. From what you told me, he still likes to default back to the "puny" fish when he has casted 100 times for muskie and has not caught anything!! Whistle
