I'll probably be out 2 weeks before I give the Sky a go.

Aww man that sucks, sorry to hear that. Hope it gets better soon. 4 weeks of straight reeling in lings is something to brag about though haha [thumbup]

Where on the Sky do you usually go?...I'm guessing you're fising from the boat though huh?

wow matt that is a bummer. most likely one of the most unfortunate injuries possible for a fisherman. i mean you can fish with a broken leg or foot, even a broken neck, but the hand is a different story. Is there literally no way for you to fish for 4 weeks?

Thanks for the kind words fellas. It is actually possible to fish, I jigged for lings 4 weekends in a row in a cast and caught over 20 fish. Unfortunately the last doctors visit revealed in xrays that the bone had healed little if any due to overworking the injury (between work and fishing it got no rest at all) so i have decided to take a voluntary 3 week hiatus from fishin, this weekend will be week 2. Cast comes off (hopefully) Mid june, then it is game on in a BIG way.

Matt!!!??? Ouch! Have you considered borrowing a lefty from Jay? You could strap the rod to your cast and reel with your left hand.

Hey Matt, that is not good. What happened to your hand? Regarding doctors orders you should still be able to fish kokes and cutthroat, the gears a lot lighter.

It is actually my left hand (my dominant hand) that is broken, and my left arm is in a shortarm cast with the fingers exposed, so I have some use of the hand, but I am trying to only use the right as much as possible. I have considered using a LH retrieve reel and hold the rod in my right hand, but at this point it is just not worth it, I need to heal, so fishing can wait (I can't believe I ever even typed that, lol). Rseas, I did go out last week in Ewa on Twin Lakes in Ferry county for some trout, I just drove the boat and let my girlfriend reel in fish after fish. For me, it is just as much fun to watch someone else reel in a fish as it is to do it myself. Considering hitting Samish this weekend for a little kokanee fishing if she is game, same deal, I drive, she fishes. She is becoming quite the fisher woman, I am very proud of all of her effort, and it is cool to be with someone who shares my passion for the water.
