1st annual WA Lakes toy drive, Meet and Greet 12/13 @7:00pm

Postby drysuperfly52 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 6:13 pm

I would like to start a new yearly tradition here on Washington Lakes. a meet and greet with members where we talk fishing and drink beer. and of course bring a toy, ( [thumbsup] fishing themed toys are encouraged [thumbsup] ) this year since it is kind of last minute I have chosen Christmas House Holiday Toy Drive (http://www.christmas-house.org/)

Since this year is last minute planning and all the interest has been from "northerners" we have chosen SPORTYS BEEF AND BREW in Everett.we will meet at 7:00pm. please bring an unwrapped toy.

in future years I will start this sooner and get feedback and will find a better central location!

SPORTY's BEEF AND BREW (open to ALL AGES until10:00PM)
6503 Evergreen Way , Everett, WA 98203

here is a little blurb about Christmas House

Christmas House is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization in Everett, Washington that provides an opportunity for qualifying, low-income, Snohomish County parents to select free holiday gifts for their children age infant-18.

History
Christmas House was founded in 1981 by Roy Fraser in his garage. Roy had heard of children in Snohomish County who had not received anything for the prior Christmas and was determined to change that. He established the first annual Christmas House and stocked it primarily with used toys and handmade items, which they refurbished and gave away to families in need. They served more than 100 children the first year. Unfortunately, Roy did not live to see the second Christmas House, but his memory lives on as we now look forward to our 32nd year, Christmas House 2012. The general format of how Christmas House functions has not changed over the years, just the number of families and individual children who benefit from his dream over two decades ago.

Merry Christmas!

Hah! for some reason I thought it was this Saturday. If I can't make it, would anyone like to meet me later on the week to hand off some toys.

Thanks to drysuperfly52 for organizing this event. I hope many of you will be able to come out and show your support and most important donate a fishing themed toy to those in need.

So who's all coming? Sounds like a worthy cause, plus you can't go wrong with beer.

So, am I blind! Or has all my posts to this thread been deleted? I see Quad's post is also deleted. What was the reason for deleting ? Or were there two separate threads started for the meet and greet?

Mike, it seems as though I remember two threads for the first annual meet and greet? The first thread, started off with drysuperfly asking who would be interested in a meet and greet, and toy drive, likely up North near Alderwood?. There was a discussion, suggesting places North of Seattle to meet. Also the discussion of various charities. Those are gone.

I had asked Mike C if he was attending. Reply back, stated work that night. does any of this ring a bell? Quad had posted he was interested in attending, and could help with charities if needed. That post is gone.

Gringo had participated in a fun run, that was a charity, that post is gone. Or attached to the other thread that was started previous to this one. That post is gone.

This thread has a place and time defined. The other thread did not have the place set in concrete.

Am I loosing my mind?

That was what I thought likely occurred. But could not find the other topic. Mike C has provided a link to that thread.

Because I could not find that first thread. I sermized both threads, might have been edited together, except a few posts were missing.

Okay, the brain fog has burned off, and the brain is back to spinning on it's axis. At a mind blowing .5rpms. Same speed as my computer hard drive.
