Anyone get a king yesterday on the sky?

Postby bugmasta » Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:00 am

Spent about 6 hours on the river yesterday with only 2 bites. Didn't see any one else hook into anything either. I was lower on the river.

I was too low on the river for how high it was. Thought I would see if anyone higher up on the river got into anything. Guessing by the lack of response I am concluding it was slow all over.

I went and talked to the guys at Wallace hatchery and they said the mouth has been so slow. We checked out the Wallace behind the hatchet and it's full of kings. Can't touch em.

when I 1st started fishing salmon i found the hwy 2 wallace bridge as well, sometimes in OCT.. they were stacked in there and could be caught pretty easily. mostly flossing but w/e.. after seeing how popular it was and the amount of poor etiquette fishing that went on there after a couple visits, I pulled up my waders and started searching for new, less populated productive holes (which i found) where i didn't feel like I was surrounded by fishermen with no morals.. it was cool for a couple visits though and to learn how to play those fish on a small river and learn more.. its always mostly about C&R for me on the wallace.. but to each there own... long as its caught legally..

Sky river kings are tough! good luck..

Please don't target kings in the Wallace when it opens.

You can always fish the intake at the hatchery, Iv'e seen guys do really well there.. [unsure]
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

no you target silvers in the wallace, but sometimes the kings hit your bait.
