Work Sharp Sharpening System
I got a chance to review the Work Sharp knife and tool sharpener at Ed Iman's Fish Camp this year and meet with Hank O'Dougherty, president of the company. He put on a very impressive demonstration of this product. If you're in the market for a superior knife sharpening solution, check this one out. A very innovative product! Mike

Summit Lake Outside Mt. Rainer Park
Summit Lake is a beautiful lake located just outside Mt. Rainer National Park. It's about a 2.5 mile hike, 1,200 ft elevation gain to 5,400 feet. The lake holds plentiful Eastern Brook Trout, although they are stunted. Hiked Aug 25, 2010 with my son James.

Goat Lake in the Alpine Wilderness
Video from a summer hike I did with my son. A nice hike in and great fishing for lots of small brook trout. Goat lake is a popular Alpine Lake in the shadow of beautiful snow and glacier capped Foggy Peak Mt. (elevation 6772 ft). July 11, 2010.

Margaret Lake in King County
Taken on a rainy day in 2008, the lake came alive with cutthroat dimpling the surface - unfortunately no biters! Located NE of Duvall, this lake holds cuttrhoat trout. It has limited shore access, a rough boat launch and parking area.

Lake Serene, Alpine Lake
This lake's trail had been closed for many years until the Forest Service re-built the trail making it safer and more hiker-friendly. The trail is indeed very steep -- and longer than advertised. The sign at the trailhead said "3.6 miles, strenuous hike", but my round trip GPS came in at 9.6 miles. Elevation gain was 2,083 ft to a maximum elevation of 3,597 ft.There are a LOT of switchbacks, 23 is the number I've seen. And a LOT of stairs! They could call this hike "the stairway to heaven". Beautiful lake and view of Mt Index. Holds rainbow trout.

Heather Lake, Alpine Lake
This video was taken late June. Great fishing, nice hike. Be sure to C&R this fragile fishery! Heather Lake is located at the base of Mt Pilchuck, an easy 2.5 mile hike, and about 1,000 ft of elevation gain. It is open to hike early in the season due to it's relatively low elevation of 2,450 ft. 8.5 miles east of Granit Falls off the Mountain Loop Hwy. Holds cutthroat trout. 17.5 acres.

Copper and Trout Lakes
Two beautiful lakes in Washington's Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Trout lake is around 2,000 ft and a 1.5 mile hike. Copper is at 4,050 ft and a grueling 3.5 miles from the trailhead, but well worth the hike. Both lakes are reported to have fish in them. Trout has rainbow and Copper has rainbow, cutthroat, and eastern brook.

2010 Silver Lake Tiger Muskie Tournament
Stevie Wonder wrote in his song Superstition, “When you believe in things you don’t understand, then you suffer. Superstition ain’t the way”. Much like the gray wolf of North America, the Tiger Muskie, fondly referred to as the “Water Wolf” is surrounded by fear, mysticism and superstition. Is is known to be a perfect predator, being smart, cunning and very elusive. Recently, I had the pleasure of spending a day with the NW TIGER PAC Chapter 57, Muskies Inc, participating in the Silver Lake Tiger Muskie Tournament. They are a group of individuals who are very passionate and dedicated in promoting, preserving and pursuing these magnificient creatures. Their work and cause is admirable. I want to extend a special thank you to Adam Rafferty for contributing his music. Also, I would like to thank Don Wittenberger, my team member, who made my day on the water quite memorable.

A Jewel In The Desert - the Owyhee River
The Owyhee River from the Owyhee Dam to the Snake River in northeastern Oregon hold some of the best Brown Trout fishing in the Pacific Northwest. The water flowing out of the dam is cold and clear year around making for a perfect home for the German Brown Trout. It is one of the favorite spots for many fly fisherman in the Boise region. Although it is a very beautiful area, it does have some startling surprises once in awhile. The river flows through a deep canyon that the military sometime uses for flight training. You may be suddenly surprised to have a F-18 screaming over your head with afterburners on. Seems it is good practice for low level terrain flying. The good news is that the trout have become accustomed to it. Special thanks to Paul Reece for contributing his music.

Yakima River Rainbows Part 2
Fishing Washington's premier rainbow trout river with Keven Samuelson of The Evening Hatch. A truly beautiful river to drift, with a good population of rainbow trout and whitefish willing to bite.
