Fiorito Ponds in Kittitas County
The Fiorito Ponds are located just south of Ellensburg and next to I-82. I believe it is one of the “freeway ponds” created when they built the interstate. It is stocked with trout and bass. The access is limited to small boats and has no designated launch. Many kinds of waterfowl live on the lake and the surrounding area. It is primarily a day use site. My special thanks to Paul Reece for contributing his music for this video.

Medical Lake in Spokane County
A jewel of a lake located in the City of Medical Lake, just 15 minutes from downtown Spokane, WA. At the end of the 19th century it was popular with bathers for it's "medicinal properties" in the water. Today it is popular with fly fishermen, kayakers and marathon swimmers. A paved walking/biking trail encircles the lake. A "no motor" policy on the lake keeps the serene surroundings pleasant. Stocked with both Rainbow and German Brown Trout that grow rapidly. Medical Lake is a "Selective Gear Rule" lake, which means "NO BAIT ALLOWED". It is monitored closely by the Game Department and the local police for violators of this rule. Be sure to read the fishing regulations. My special thanks to Paul Reece for contributing his music for this video.

Fish Lake in Spokane County
Fish Lake has something for the entire family. There is a nice county park, swimming area, paved bike trail into Cheney and of course fishing for Brooks, Browns & Tiger Trout. The entire park including the dock is wheel chair accessible. The water is clean and there are many types of water fowl. It is a great lake to paddle a canoe on. Spending an afternoon at Fish Lake you will see why I picked the music for the video. There is an afternoon train that goes by the lake. My special thanks to Lyle Morse for contributing his music for this video.

Blackman's Lake in Snohomish
It seems every time I visit Blackman's lake it rains and I never do as good as others report. But don't let that stop you from visiting this lake. Especially if you are shore-bound. Three nice fishing piers and a good city park make this a popular lake to visit. The launch area is mainly suited to small boats. Mike April 2007 Blackman's Lake (60 acres): Blackman's Lake is located in the town of Snohomish. There is access on the south shore and city park, with a disabled-accessible fishing pier on the northeast shore. Rainbow trout are the main attraction. Largemouth bass and yellow perch are also available. Expect fair fishing in spring and fall months. Disabled accessibility in county park Level 1. DP, WCT, ramp down to accessible fishing dock, picnic shelter, picnic areas and tables.

Amber Lake in Spokane County
I got to fish Amber for the first time in March of 07. It was a cool day and as you will see on the video, the wind came up brisk. We didn't catch anything but "should have been there the next day" when the winds died off, it was sunny, warm, and a friend reported excellent catch and release. Fishing can be like that...

Beaver Lake in King County
Beaver lake is not really one lake, but three lakes. The largest of the three has a county park and a ... all » public boat launch. The other two lakes are smaller and to my knowledge do not have public access. Maps show the lakes connected by streams but I don't know if they can be navigated or not. The lakes are stocked with rainbow and also hold largemouth bass, perch, and bullhead. The main lake is wooded and the day I was there I saw a bald eagle making it's rounds. There are houses scattered on the shoreline but they tend to be well hidden among the treed shores. Because this lake does not allow motors it seemed very peaceful and quiet. The county park is fair sized and makes a nice place for families to visit. The boat launch is across from the park. It is a rough launch and has limited parking. This lake is a nice alternative to the more popular and noisy Pine lake just down the road. It is well suited to the fly fishers and float tube angler crowd. Beaver Lakes (11.6, 62.5, and 5.9 acres): This group of three connected lakes is located two miles east of Pine Lake in Issaquah. The largest of the three has a public access with ramp and toilets located in the southeast corner. Largemouth bass and rainbow are the principal attraction, although yellow perch are also present.

Fenwick Lake in King County
I fished Fenwick towards the end of summer 2006. This is a quiet, peaceful lake to visit that retains much of it's undeveloped looks. The limited parking lot means cartoppers and float tubes are the way to go on this lake. Mike Fenwick Lake (18 acres): Located two miles SW of Kent, Fenwick has a WDFW boat ramp on the west shore with bank access through Lake Fenwick Park. Primary species include rainbow, largemouth bass, brown bullhead catfish, and yellow perch.

Pine Lake in King County
Pine lake is one of my favorite "tradition" lakes. I have taken my boys there most every Opening Day since moving to the area. You can't go wrong taking your family here for a pleasant day of fishing and relaxing at the park. Video was shot early spring when the lake is at it's planted best. Pine Lake, King County, 88 acres. Exit 17 off I-90 at Issaquah, E. Sammamish rd to Issaquah/Pine Lake rd 2 1/2 miles. This lake holds rainbow, bass, sunfish, and crappie. It is 40 feet deep at the center and warms up quickly in the spring. The lake is developed and has an excellent county park on it. There is a large fishing pier and ample parking. The boat launch is for hand launched boats only. No gas motors allowed.

Kapowsin Lake in Pierce County
This video was shot on a gorgeous late summer/early fall day with Bob Johansen. Bass anglers will drool over all the habitat to be found. ... all » We had a tough day of it, however, only catching one each. Still, we will be back! Lake Kapowsin is a large lake covering 512 surface acres and reaching depths of about 58 feet. Most of the lake however, is quite shallow. The water is quite stained and it is located at 600 feet of elevation. Fish species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkin seed sunfish and bullhead catfish. To get there from Seattle, travel south through Tacoma to the Highway 512 – Puyallup exit. (Exit #127) Exit onto Highway 512 and travel east for 2.2 miles to the Highway #7 exit. Exit onto Highway #7 and travel south for 13.5 miles to the Kapowsin Highway. There is a blinker light here and it is called "Johnson’s Corner." Turn left onto Kapowsin Highway and travel east for 6.2 miles to the WDFW public access on the right.

Meridian Lake in King County
Watch out for the early morning skiers on this urban lake. The ramps are a problem as well, shallow and limited parking. Meridian ... all » Lake (150 acres): Located between Kent and SR 18, about two miles east of Kent, this year-around lake has dual WDFW and county park access on the southeast shore with a boat ramp. An excellent fishing pier is available through the county park. Stocked with catchable-size rainbows after May 1 (to reduce bird predation), Meridian is also productive for largemouth bass, yellow perch and brown bullheads. Lake Meridian was taken over by the City of Kent about 7 years ago or so. It's a City park and looks way better than what the county did with it. The City is redoing the boat launch this year because of how shallow it was. By the end of the year, it will be a lot easier for people to launch their boats. Editor's Note: As of my visit on Aug 2006, the city finished it's overhaul but the ramp still looks pretty shallow, although it is paved. The WDFW ramp just down the road is rough and also quite shallow with very limited parking. City park has limited parking as well. Beware, the speed boats come out promptly at 9am!
