Fished from 7 tp 10 am. It was overcast and after a while became windy but not unfishable.
I did 2 rods most of the time with power eggs (pink and green). I got 3 on the shore, one triploid of 1.5lb (first time using my new fishing scale). I lost another one near the shore, that one hooked with a Panther Martin green spinner (their spinners are the best).
I had fun handing the rod over to a 3-5 y kid to reel one of the fish in. He was really excited :) and got the fish home too.
There were plenty of people fishing but not really crowded. It was slow in the morning but then it started to pick up and saw several fish around me being caught though nobody had a limit by the time I left.
On the way home I stopped in Log Boom Park to see if the perch have arrived. I didn't stay long and only manage to get 2 very little fish on a worm. It was pretty windy and difficult to fish with a float.
Overall a decent day on the water. It's great that Green Lake fishing is finally starting to heat up.

Started fishing this lake around 7am Sat morning. Lanched from the public boat lanch. Lake is really shallow so be very careful. The lake was really quiet as expected. I did see an older couple fishing from the bank. Fishing was really slow. I tried a few spot without luck... not a bite. I moved to the area right next to what look like a small island and hooked up with nice smallmouth. I was using a topwater lure. Fished until 11am without a bite.

Let me start off by saying something good is happening with the perch population. On Sat I probably caught 100 yellow perch with 16 being in excess of 12 inches, there were a lot of dinks. The only other time I saw perch this size was in lake Washington. The largest was almost 15 in.I m still a little blown away. The only trick is to cover lots of water cause you may not find the jumbos right away, but when you do find them its pretty easy to stay on them,.Take lots of bait.

No fish today. I think it was more to do with the 12,000 screaming teenagers than anything else.

After work grabbed my pole and vest made my way to Lake Geneva. Having fished the lake before, I knew there were large bass there. well on the 2nd cast with a Yamamoto creature watermelon on a jig , BAM ! She hit then took off for the logs. After 5 to 7 minutes of fighting pulled in 4Lb , after the pic put her back. Oh ya caught her next to the fishing dock.

Hit Geneva again today...not much was working again except Senko's. I had 4 bites all day. I missed 2 and caught 2. One was only about a pound or so. The other is the one you see here. Measured about 20" and weighed 3.80 pounds. No, these are not the same pictures from my last report...look closely. Tried to release it but the hook was deep and I had to cut the line and leave the hook. Fish did not survive so I ended up giving to some people that were also out fishing trolling for trout. Thanks for reading.

5.2 lbs and 20" long. Not bad for Geneva. Didn't have a bite all day after this pig.

Decent day, sun was shining, but it was a bit gusty at times. Made it tough to troll at times. Fished for about 4 hours, limited out but fishing was very slow at times. Got a decent trout, just shy of 13". Best part was what was attached to that trout. A MONSTER large mouth was trying to eat my trout. The bass had half my trout stuffed in its mouth and wouldn't let go. The thing had to be easily twice the size of the trout. He Hung out next to the boat, trout still in mouth, but ran once I dipped my net. I'm not one to tell "fish stories" but this was easily the biggest bass I've ever seen. At least 24" long and 5+lbs. I didnt even think that largemouth could get this big. I was shocked. It was right next to that big fallen tree on the (southeast) public dock side. I challenge everyone to try to catch this fatty and please...take pics and measurements and post them here. I would be willing to bet that my estimates are on the conservative side.

Well, fishing to me is starting to slow in Geneva. Lots of folks out today. I woke up at 6:30 this am and thought, what the heck, I can be out on the lake by 7 if I get moving... So I went. Mom and Dad were out there too. They did pretty good with their 'custom' wedding rings. (secret). I forgot my trolling motor battery, so I rowed out and anchored. Caught one right off, and then it went quiet. I think its because dad threw a banana in my boat when he went by, which shut off my boat for the rest of the day. After sitting, I tried row trolling, still no bites. Call it a day. Dang Banana's. For real though, the bite is slowing. i talked to a few people, they hit a few too. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed today when I trolled by the public park. I have fished off the shore there too. Its about 200' wide of a lake at that point. I trolled in front of them, right in the middle, about a hundred feet out. A guy hollars off the dock, hey buddy, you are running over my line. I instictively respond, sorry, I didn't know, and spotted his line floating on the surface about 20' from me. I turned, and luckily didn't catch him. But after, I was thinking. Seriously? If you cast from shore, you should plan on boats coming by, and fishing half way across the lake is a bit..... well, I didn't go to that end of the lake anymore. Geneva was super calm this am, super calm. It was nice. Glad Mom and Dad had a great time, its super awesome to see. Fish on!
