Hit the waters at about 7:45. I was a little concerned because it was windy and I wanted to use my popper as it has been magical here. I started my usual circuit and realized that this was no good as the wind was taking the popper to the trees; I changed positions and got a bite. Little guy was only a ½ inch bigger than the popper.

I changed spots again and increased the size of the catch, probably around 9”. I caught several of these. I suddenly received a very strong hit and set hook I could feel this fish had more girth than the others; however, my line had somehow cinched itself around the bailer arm making reeling impossible. As I attempted to flip the loop the fish shook the hook and I was left watching a large water swirl. This fish has been playing me my last several outings here and the score is now 3-0. I will get this bad boy. All in all I caught 5 LMB in about an hour and half, including the time spent retrieving my popper from a Birch tree. Extremely fun.
