Well we had a great trip up to Rufus today. We took the Pautzke crew up to the lower pens for some triploid catching. Jeff's jigging technique was very productive for some catch and release work. Pautzke's Fire Bait in rainbow caught fish on the bottom and up suspended. Jeff was kind enough to hook and hand off a fish to me that turned into the big fish for the day, a 10lb 13oz pig. This is a time to try and fish artificials as there are a bunch of smaller 14 to 16 inch fish. The bait caught fish need to be kept. The weather really moderated. Air temps were mostly in the 30's. With our propane heat, it was comfortable. Surface water temp was around 47 most of the day.
