Diamond Lake is full of Brownies and Bows, lots of action and some decent sized fish. I have caught several fish with tackle already in the face of them.
I caught a 16" bow with tackle hanging out of his mouth, my neighbor caught a Brown with a leader coming out the other end.
The best story was this: I saw a trout breaching a few feet off my dock and decided I would see if he would take my offering. as I pulled out my pole I noticed there was some bright object in the water, about a foot down coming towards me. I couldn't figure out what it was, it wasn't a fish or turtle and as it got nearer I saw that it was a bobber. 18" under the bobber was a 18" Rainbow swiming along towing the float. I tossed out a crankbait as it passed by and after a couple tries snagged the line. I brought him up on the shore and he was pretty tired, these bows are not as hardy as the brownies. he had the hook pretty deep and I couldn't get to it so I just took as much of the line out of his mouth and put him back in the lake. it took a few strokes in the water but he revived and I hope he is feeding well.
