Sunday 11pm UPdate - Dead Tired! 4 1/2 hrs back to Redmond. I must say, this was one of the funner shows I've done. Everyone were anglers! I want to give a special thanks to Lotech Joe and Marc Martyn for helping out with the booth, settign up, tearing down, tying flies to give away and being great company. Thanks guys! And of course thanks to my partner in fishing crime, Aaron, for being the web site tech guru and a good friend. And thanks to his wife Tammy and their kids for putting up with me at their home. No more shows, time to go fshing!
Saturday 10pm Update -The show was pretty busy today, at least until around 5pm when things slowed down. Enjoyed meeting more current members and new members. Have to admited I'm tired and my voice almost gave out a couple different times. I dont know how some of these businesses do 5-6 shows a year...
Friday 10PM Update - Great first day! Met lots of dedicated anglers at today's show. I had to stop myself when meeting people from saying "do you fish" - of course they fish! That was a refreshing change from the typical sportsman's shows. Thanks to Marc and Joe for their help at the booth. Joe's fly tying skills are most impressive. It's so gratifying showing people the new site and hearing all the positive feedback. Thanks to all that visited our booth today. A much better cowd than I expected.
Friday morning - Welcome from sunny Spokane! After a grueling drive over the Pass which featured blinding snow, ice, and Chains Required I arrived to sunny, cool weather. And yes, there's still snow on the ground.
Yesterday Marc, Lotech Joe, and myself set up the booth and got the "lay of the land". The Spokane Convention Center looks like a great place to hot this event. Big and spaceous aisles and plenty of parking close by. The Center has the Spokane River as a backyard, which is a lot nicer than a parking lot.
From the looks of the vendors setting up last night, the Great Western Sportfishing Show has set up an anglers dream event. Three days of nothing but fishing-related booths, dozens of seminars to attend, fly casting demonstrations - an best of all, one reasonable priced ticket covers the entire weekend. No pressure to get it all done in one day. Merle and Beverly huyler look to have a winner out here.
The Show starts today from 1pm to 8pm. We will have Marc and Lotech Joe tying flys, and the website will be up and running for demonstrations of all the new features. There's a free raffle AND some "special treats". For now I'm just going to tll you to show up to find out what they are.
I'll update this Blog daily to let you know how the show is going.
Fish On!
